The rules in your state North Carolina When is the deadline to register to vote? The deadline to register online to vote was Friday, Oct. 9.

  • Can I register to vote and cast my ballot on the same day?

Yes

  • Can I vote without a photo ID?

Yes. You only have to say your name, address and birthday at the polls when going to vote in NC

Note: North Carolina voters can register to vote and cast a ballot on the same day only for early voting; for early in person voters the deadline to register in person is Saturday, Oct. 31. Can I vote by mail without an excuse? Yes, you can vote by mail without an excuse.

  • When is the deadline to request a mail-in ballot?

Tuesday, Oct. 27

  • When do I need to mail my ballot by?

Must be postmarked by Tuesday, Nov. 3 and received by Friday, Nov. 6

  • Can I drop off my ballot in person?

Yes

  • Can I vote without a notary or witness?

No
